So finally I'm back in the home country, a visit that was long overdue! It feels amazing to be in a house with family and people to talk to, dinner cooked for you every night, and the guilt-free feeling of chilling in front of the TV because a) you have time and b) the couch is so comfy and the TV so big it is just irresistable.
Most of the first week here has been spent getting prepared for tonight, which is my 18th and my sister's 21st birthday party! It is actually more of my sister's party, as she is the one with all the friends here. I havn't got any of the friends of my own coming but at least I get to go out and LEGALLY party!
We have booked at George's Restaurant on King St Wharf which is in the centre of the city, in Darling Harbour. So it's drinks and dinner (Tapas) there from 6.30 and then after its party time at the Cargo bar, which is a bit more sophisticated to what I'm used to back in Gloucester and Cheltenham but different is good!
In preparation my sister and I have been waxed, nails and toes done, eyebrows done, and spray tans (yay!! brown!!). We are getting our hair styled today then we are going through to the hotel to get ready. I've never had a party for my birthday really, so I'm very excited!
I had a super 18th birthday as well. We went for a family dinner at a great Thai restaurant and when we came back my sister and her boyfriend surprised me with cupcakes, a couple of presents and flowers!
I have also been riding my old FEI pony, Vinnie, the horse where everything started on. Finally, I can ride him properly and am helping mum ride him and giving her lessons to practise my teaching. I miss him so much he is the coolest little pony ever!!!
So my family is shouting at me to hurry up because I'm always late so I better go, time to party!!!! :D
